Are You Experienced è l'LP di debutto della The Jimi Hendrix Experience, primo gruppo formato dal chitarrista rock Jimi Hendrix. L'album, registrato tra il 26 ottobre 1966 ed il 3 aprile 1967, fu pubblicato il 12 maggio del 1967 e raggiunse il secondo posto in classifica nel Regno Unito.
L'album venne anticipato dal singolo Hey Joe, pubblicato il 16 dicembre 1966. Viene da molti considerato il migliore album del gruppo, nonché una pietra miliare della storia del rock.[1] Nel 2003, l'album venne incluso nella lista dei 500 migliori album secondo Rolling Stone alla posizione numero 15.[2]
Sin dalla sua pubblicazione Are You Experienced si rivelò subito un successo sia commerciale che di critica. L'album raggiunse il secondo posto in classifica in Gran Bretagna cedendo il primato al solo Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band dei Beatles. Il disco contiene alcune delle canzoni più conosciute di Hendrix, incluse Purple Haze, Hey Joe, Fire, Stone Free, e Red House. Viene spesso considerato uno dei migliori album di debutto della storia del Rock.
